EPISCOPALIANS BELIEVE GOD IS LOVE...
NO EXCEPTIONS
Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Much of our ministry and life of faith is lived out in the local worshipping community, but we are united with siblings in Christ throughout the world, and we are part of a tradition deeply rooted in history yet striving to live faithfully in the world today. As part of the global Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Church descends from the Church of England, maintaining a heritage that is both catholic and reformed. ‘Episcopal’ comes from the New Testament Greek word for ‘Bishop’—the Episcopal Church is made up of regional dioceses, each overseen by a Bishop in apostolic succession. St. Timothy’s is part of the Diocese of Mississippi.

The Episcopal Church has a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being. Women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in The Episcopal Church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of The Episcopal Church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in The Episcopal Church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.
